Haitian Diaspora Convention Association
Taking Collective Actions Towards Maximizing Opportunities for Haitians at Home & Abroad. “Met Men E Aji Ansanm Pou N Vin Pi Fò”
Since its creation as a nation on January 1st, 1804, our beloved Haiti has suffered enough. It’s time for Haiti’s sons, and daughters living in Haiti, and abroad to corral, and pull Haiti upward from the rock bottom.
This is the reason for our first symposium, which will be held in Brooklyn at Brooklyn college in New York, in August 8, 9, and 10th of this year 2024. The plan is to hold several symposia throughout several states in the United states in the near future, aiming the realization of a summative convention during the fall of 2025. Such an ambitious project required determination, will, and courage from our event leadership, committees, expert guests; who have thrived for several months (through contacts, and meetings) to make this initial symposium of August 2024, a reality. The main focus of this symposium and beyond: Materialization of the rebuilding of Haiti’s Economic Infrastructure. Finally, please meet the team, and read appropriate documents under respective tabs. Any Haitian organization, group, association, or individual is invited to join HDCW regardless of gender, economic, political, social, religious, cultural, generational, immigration, or transnational status. HDCW will reflect the diversity that exists among Haitian diaspora communities around the world, their varied immigration experiences, and the funds of knowledge and creativity that they are ready to share. From gathering insights from recent new arrivals under the Biden Humanitarian Act to sharing perspectives from older Haitian immigrants who are well-integrated into the ecosystems of the United States and other countries around the world, the HDCW organizers value diversity, inclusivity, and equity.
